Creating a Brand Ecosystem for Tablón Coffee Roasters

Tablón Coffee Roasters, based in Denver, CO, is a roastery that values producer relationships and community alongside quality coffees. Much like a good book, Tablón understands that coffee can take you places, including Ethiopia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and beyond. Through their carefully roasted coffees sourced from around the globe, they honor and support producers every step of the way. Tablón's team wanted an art nouveau-inspired brand that didn't shy away from detail and precision, much like their coffee offerings.

Flavor Category Icons

A year after brand launch, we partnered with Tablón to create a custom icon system to help make the flavor profiles of their coffees a little more accessible.

We created a series of illustrations that provide guidance on what you might experience but also allow space for you to discover the coffee for yourself. Our collective goal was to create a visual system that caters to both experienced coffee drinkers as well as inviting those who are less familiar to enjoy these delicious roasts. The final result was both comfortable and stylish, just like Tablón. ⁠

Roaster’s Select Boxes

To introduce Tablón’s Roaster’s Select series they curated a tasting set featuring 3 different processing methods of Pola’s Coffee Family Farms Pacas variety - Anaerobic Honey, Dehydrated Honey, & Natural. To mirror the quality of these lots, the packaging is composed of one-of-a-kind boxes with accompanying descriptor cards printed on paper made from resource saving plant fibers to explain each process. Precision and craft are reflected through the subtle emboss of the letterpressed design, the organic paper texture, and the delicate linework of the illustrations. ⁠Each box was hand assembled with great attention to detail, helping to further elevate these already beautiful coffees.
